David Brindley   Born  October 1957  Kingswinford, West Midlands

Graduated  1979  B. Ed  Crewe & Alsager College, Cheshire

Began working as a freelance artist in September 1979 specialising in architectural subjects. Finely detailed pen & ink illustration.

House portraits and limited edition prints of the West Midlands.

Married Claire and moved to Newent producing illustrations of the Forest of Dean, Gloucester and Cotswold areas in pen and ink with increasing use of watercolour to compliment the black and white drawings.

Continued work with individual clients but also developed the commercial market with publishing and advertising commissions. Began a long-standing association with The Good Hotel Guide in 1993 and the Danbury Mint in USA in 1994.

Recently introduced soft pastel paintings to the portfolio of work. Whilst the architectural and landscape watercolour paintings are produced in a highly detailed style the soft pastels are executed with a much broader presentation.

Welcome to my soft pastel and watercolour website.

I began life as a freelance illustrator in 1979 having trained as a primary school teacher.

So, with no experience of the world outside the classroom and a full head of hair I settled

in at the drawing board. Now, with a bit more experience and virtually no hair I invite you to           browse the new website and study my watercolour and pastel paintings.

I hope you have enjoyed studying the images presented here.

  Thank you for your interest.
